The combination of barrier-free accessibility and user-friendly touch display technology requires a seamless integration of intuitive navigation, visual clarity and integration of various tools to ensure accessibility.

Wichtig ist, dass Inhalte für alle Nutzer wahrnehmbar sind, die Bedienung intuitiv erfolgt, Informationen verständlich aufbereitet wurden und die Technologie robust gegenüber verschiedenen Plattformen und Technologien bleibt. Diese Prüfung gewährleistet eine barrierefreie, benutzerfreundliche und inklusive digitale Umgebung für alle, unabhängig von ihren Fähigkeiten oder Einschränkungen. Die Webseite beinhaltet verschiedene Medien, die natürlich mit verschiedenen Mitteln barrierefrei gestaltet werden müssen.

The BITV test for this website ensures that it is accessible and user-friendly, which increases user satisfaction. Compliance with the four basic principles increases accessibility for people with disabilities and enables a broader target group. In addition, compliance minimizes legal risks and improves the client’s image of social responsibility. The implementation of BITV tests requires several steps. First, the website is analyzed for the current 98 criteria of the BITV. Manual and automated tests as well as screen reader and keyboard tests were performed. This identifies potential barriers for people with disabilities. The results were documented and necessary adjustments were suggested. Finally, the suggested changes were implemented as far as WordPress allows to ensure accessibility. Finally, an accessibility statement was created and linked on the website.

The challenge:
The book “Digital accessibility for everyone!” Written by Peggy Reuter-Heinrich, it is to be published and sold, with everything that goes with it in terms of design, marketing, printing, etc.

The book will be made accessible and known to a broad public. Sales are promoted and people are made aware of the thing itself (digital accessibility). Attention is also drawn to our company HeiReS, which offers a wide range of services related to the topic of digital inclusion.
The way there:
The book has already been prepared for accessibility in Word. Then we use InDesign to set the layout. Here, too, we have continued to work on the accessibility of the finished document. For example, we put alternative texts on images or marked pure layout elements as artifacts so that the screen reader does not read them out afterwards. Then the print file and barrier-free PDF were created. We created social media posts, a book teaser and sales websites. We even took the book to the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2022. The book is now available on Amazon. A new edition and an audio book are planned.

The challenge:

Texting, conceptualizing, designing and speaking of explanatory videos
The challenge:
Our everyday life is becoming more and more complex and the increasing flood of information overwhelms many. A message should be conveyed in a simple, graphic and barrier-free manner in order to be able to reach as many people as possible.
The benefit for the customer:
Understanding the content is much easier thanks to the clear sound, image and text combination. The simple, high-contrast drawing style and the simple choice of words make it even more pleasant and understandable. In this way, the customer reaches a larger target group because the message is understood.
The way there:
We sat down with the customers to work out the objective. Then a text was created, of course with correction options. With high-quality graphics, we created animations that fit the story of the message to be conveyed. After the customer gave us his “okay”, the text was professionally recorded. Then the subtitle track was created. The end product is an explanatory video that enables many people to better participate in important topics.

Discord as a platform for the sim racing community
The challenge:
Platforms used by consumers, or in this case gamers, are often very different from what commercial companies want to offer or “sell”. It may therefore be necessary to familiarize oneself with new technologies and to use platforms that are already used by the target group and are established there.
The benefit for the customer:
Offering solutions that do not suit the target group always means a loss of potential dissemination. In return, the adaptation of existing and established platforms means reaching the target group where it is “to be found” anyway.
The way there:
After familiarization with Discord itself, a corresponding server was established for the community. This was constantly expanded in line with the growth of the community (members, technical requirements for Discord, integration and automation). The focus here was on establishing a member administration (3000+ members), structured communication channels, integration of external platforms and sources as well as task automation.

The challenge:
An originally static landing page was to become a dynamic and CMS-based website. This should enable the team to easily and conveniently maintain content. In addition, the CMS had to enable flexible options in terms of design, multimedia content and, if necessary, connection to external systems such as Discord and a shop.

CMS-based websites offer unique possibilities in terms of content maintenance, expandability and visual customization. You also have the advantage of convenient user management to enable content editing by employees without prior technical knowledge.

Design and development of a shop solution for gaming and PC hardware
The challenge:
They were looking for a simple shop solution – initially only intended for merchandising. The solution had to have the potential to be scalable and continuously adaptable to the needs and growth of the project. In the course of the project, the development of a configurator solution, partially automated tasks such as warehouse imports and a convenient filter solution for the growing product catalog became important.

E-Commerce solutions should be easy for customers to use. The shopping experience should be smooth and understandable, and payment should be smooth and trustworthy. An existing program is to be visually restructured from scratch according to principles of ISO 9241 to improve usability and sustainable use. The program can run in several windows at the same time and has different user groups with different activities on it.

The new UX concept and the associated redesign have resulted in a software solution whose usability has been sustainably improved. The user finds his way more quickly into his work processes and intuitively understands how to operate the program.

We designed a solution for Windows desktop PCs with a main window that additionally manages open windows. An existing program for setting up injection molding jobs is to be redesigned. It is important not to change the sizes of the individual controls and their arrangement. There are 3 different variants of the interface depending on the device used. 2 themes (Light and Dark) were requested. Furthermore, due to long loading times, the performance should be increased.

The challenge:
The implementation of 8 different scenarios as storyboards for social media campaign in different styles.

Through the resulting social media campaign, brand reinforcement is achieved, which leads to higher popularity and thus more sales for the customer.
The way there:
We developed ideas on various helpful gastronomy-related topics to directly address the target group. For example, topics such as upselling through the use of well-known brands or offering different payment options as well as integrating food trends into the menu in order to keep up with the times and increase sales through very simple means.
These ideas were the basis for 8 scenarios, which are to bring the gastro tips closer to the target group as small film sequences. We then implemented the ideas as storyboards in various styles using Illustrator and Photoshop.

The solution makes all useful information available to the various user groups on all possible platforms in a user-friendly, barrier-free and fast way.

We designed a solution that was implemented through our proprietary content management system. (ConDiSys) was implemented. For this, we researched compactly bundled content for 14 main topics. In the form of texts, checklists, addresses, questions and answers, necessary documents and further links on the topic. Other features include an interactive map, a wide range of languages (10 languages), a keyword search and a chatbot for a question-and-answer dialogue.

Brief consultation with professional UI design for a 3D cleaning simulation software.
The challenge:
The task in the context of a seven-day short consultation was the conception of a modern attractive user interface design with high usability for a 3D cleaning simulation sofware.
The benefit for the customer:
The newly designed modern attractive user interface – i.e. the UI design – can give the software product a real market edge in the future. After all, according to a study, it has been proven that good design makes products sell better.
The way there:
To resolve the critical usage scenarios, concrete suggestions for improvement were made during the consultation.
In a first step, all critical usage situations were eliminated in the new UI design by implementing the suggestions for improvement. In this way, usability according to ISO 9241 was ensured for the future product. Based on the first draft, an attractive modern UI design was created and designed in two flavors. From this, the final optimal UI design was formed – also taking into account customer requirements.
Modern software applications in particular make use of visual language forms of expression in the form of icons. We designed our own icon sets for this purpose.

UI design for a management software in the social sector
The challenge:
The aim is to create an IT solution that links 4 areas in care. Domestic services, first aid, inclusion and youth care. It should become a kind of administration tool, in which e.g. duty rosters are made, but also inventories. There should also be the possibility of communication between e.g. young people and caregivers, which includes an app for children.
The benefit for the customer:
An incredibly multi-layered solution that didn’t exist before gives the client a unique selling point and therefore an advantage in the market. Our help in the area of UX and UI design will sell the product better because it is visually very appealing and easy to use.
The way there:
After a comprehensive briefing on what the solution should offer, the conception began. User groups were evaluated, page structures built, UX designed. Then a very clean design was created without many frills. This also included a control set, a good 50 icons and 16 screens.

Web Design with WordPress for an advertising agency
The challenge:
The website was created from scratch. This gives opportunity to make a re-design of the site and thus create a new fresh internet presence for the client.
The benefit for the customer:
A website is a kind of digital business card, so it is especially important to have one now in the age of digitalization. Of course, the appearance also counts and so a professional website generates more orders and thus more sales.
The way there:
We have received the customer’s requests. Then we looked for a suitable theme, which meets the requirements. We created a one-pager, structured and maintained content, finally we added some visual touches and we were done. Super simple and super effective.

Design and development support for a multiple sclerosis platform
The challenge:
A platform for multiple sclerosis patients is to be created. Here you can get information about the latest studies, but also document the course of the disease and store medical documents. The special challenge due to the funding of the project is that the platform must be barrier-free, which affects everything holistically, from design to interaction to programming. In this project we mainly take care of UI and interaction design. But we also help with the technical implementation.
The benefit for the customer:
By law (e.g. Federal Participation Act), we are no longer only morally obligated to implement accessibility. There are certain requirements that must be met in the context of a grant from EU funds to ensure inclusion. Therefore, it was important for this customer that everything was designed to be inclusive.
The way there:
We have intensively dealt with the different user groups and then started to structurally build up different pages. In the process, 8 main pages were created in the interaction design. From this, a protoype was created. Afterwards we developed 2 different design “flavors”. After deciding in which direction we should continue to work, we developed a control set to then design the individual screens. We also created an icon set with over 70 icons.
There was a small style guide to help the developers with the implementation. Furthermore, a logo for their platform and we also helped a bit with the technical implementation.
