Do you prefer to read printed books or an eBook? And how do you think blind people could read books? An eBook is a great fit for individual reading needs and people with visual impairments can read it too. In order to make our book “Digital Accessibility for All!” accessible to even more people, it is now available as an eBook.
As an accessible eBook, the book can now also be read on eReaders such as Kindle and other mobile devices. We have made it almost 100% barrier-free as an ePub (Electronic Publication). ePub is an open standard that works on all mobile reading devices. These ePub files can contain text, images, links and other media. All elements are processed and arranged in a layout that is optimally suited for viewing on eBook readers or any other mobile device.
In addition, an eReader can also output sound. Those affected can control everything via buttons and have the content read out from the ePub format. This helps all people who, for whatever reason, would rather listen to a book than read it. With a book about accessibility, that’s consistent.
