Workshop "Accessibility digital" by Peggy at the company network Inclusion
Accessibility in and with IT is a major undertaking and one of the future challenges in digital change. For this reason, Peggy held a workshop at the company's Inclusion Network in FAW gGmbH for a whole morning. It was nice to see that interest in accessibility is increasing. The participants were particularly motivated by the fact that the BITV has now resulted in a fairly fresh requirement for barrier-free forms to be complied with. Nevertheless, everyone has first agreed to develop empathy for people with disabilities. Participants have patiently been introduced to any manifestation of disability, its causes and, in particular, its effects. In order to show decision-makers, designers and developers that there is a lot that can be done, I have shown for each professional group possibilities of becoming active in accessibility. Only if we all work together will we eventually create barrier-free solutions that meet the prescribed standards.
And as a thick board, I introduced the Barrier-Free Information Technology Regulation and pointed out how we can get this right. Finally, I have openly and honestly tested our IT solution for a better reconciliation of family and professional life, where we now stand with BITV compliance. There is still much to be done, but we are on the right track. I would especially like to thank Conny and Simone from the Company Network Inclusion for making this beautiful workshop possible. We repeat that.
