The HeiReS story – for 10 years

Time flies like the wind when you always have a lot to do. And Schwupps has been self-employed for ten years. There's a lot to talk about. So here is the whole story of HeiReS and us …

2009In September, Lars and Peggy left their long-term permanent positions in the agency business together. Officially with business registration as of 03.10.2009 was then founded with our Skills developer and designer as freelancer or Sole proprietor XAMLlab and XAMLfab. The 3.10. is a special date for us, as we are an East-West couple. This year we attended our first Microsoft conference MIX 2009. In addition to mega-inspiration, we were affectionately named "The Designer Developer Dream Team". At that time, the project work was still rather isolated with a small overlap – but together out of our working space in the shared apartment in Aachen. Already in the first year we were able to move good sales completely independently. In December, Peggy even gave her first training session – on the topic of XAML with blend.

2010Out of longing for Lars' homeland Dresden long planned, in the summer we moved together to Dresden into a common apartment with commercially usable office area. In the finest Dresden villa district near the Elbe, we had a great domicile where we were able to work out creative technical solutions for our customers. So work is fun. The core business of design and development services with Microsoft specialization began there. With our first permanent employee Armin Reuter (brother of Peggy) as project manager as a link between design and development, we became the perfect triad for good software in September 2010. Armin worked in the office in Aachen from the very beginning – as our man in the West.

2011
As early as January 2011, Manuela arrived in our Dresden office as a permanent graphic designer. This had something special, because we basically had a mix of apartment and office. This year we were also able to attract the first big customers for which we still work today such as Sirona and FiBuData. With our expertise, we are on . Net-user groups and conferences are rumbling and giving lectures. How, for example, B. 3D in WPF, prototyping with blend, designer developer collaboration with blend or 1-2-3 Good UI. This year, for the first time, we were invited to participate in the Cebit at the Microsoft booth as an expert in Blend.

2012
Prototyping with glare for large software solutions we have established so well that our customer Sirona was able to score with great success at the dental show with Sidexis. In 2012, our services from UI design and UI development were increasingly mixed. We have therefore completed the long-planned transfer of the individual companies to a joint limited liability company with the official foundation of Heinrich & Reuter Solutions GmbH on 01.06.2012. Actually, we wanted to continue XAMLlab as a name, but at the last MIX in Vegas, the announcement of the switch from XAML to HTML5 made it clear: technology dependency is unwise. It was Lar's idea to manifest our names in the company name as the only constant. And Armin's idea was the short form HeiReS, which we then transferred into a word-mark application for HeiReS, so that no one else can call themselves that. The team started to grow with The GmbH foundation by Melli as a graphic designer and Phil and Alex as developers and suddenly we were 8 people. That's why we changed the spatial situation and rented our own large office with team rooms for graphics and development. This year we were again at ceBiT. Some quite large customers as well as SMEs were added.

2013
Already growth in personnel – employment Antje as management assistant, Fernando as sales representative, Marika in controlling on a mini-job basis. First projects for Microsoft directly as a Windows 8 app. Lars and Peggy became MVPs – that is, as 2 of approx. 6,000 experts honored with the Microsoft Award Most Valuable Professional. Due to microsoft proximity, we were back at conferences in the UNITED States – at the fabulous BUILD conference in San Francisco and the MVP summit directly in Redmont. As it should be, we were again at CeBIT at the Microsoft booth. This time quite big raised for Windows 8. And so, right next to it, Peggy wrote her first book and released "XAML with Blend" as an independent publisher on Amazon. Personally, our highlight of the day was of course the wedding of the founding couple Lars and Peggy on 03.08.2013.

2014Despite all the new topics and hypes, we have always remained true to our WPF theme – as a bread-and-butter business. In addition to a few major main customers, we were able to get a large project for DB Projektbau, which we worked on together. On the human side, Tom was added as a working student development and Fernando went. And so that we don't get bored, we traveled back to the USA – this time to San Francisco and Seattle and talked at some conferences about our favorite topics XAML, UI design, usability, Microsoft apps.

2015
Despite the app and HTML hype, WPF remained our core technology and main business area this year. Due to the crisis situation in Germany, we have also made a major social project as an entrepreneurial volunteer: We designed, designed, developed and filled the Welcome App Germany with content and released it as free apps as the first digital refugee helpers worldwide – as a sign of cosmopolitanism in Dresden and Germany. There was a nice press frenzy – even the Guardian called us. In the process, we were able to recruit Ahmad as a web developer and Simone as a marketing force and Alex left. And because it is not enough, at the end of the year we moved with the company headquarters and privately to each separate floor within an old villa in Dresden.

2016Some awards were won like RedDot, Germany Design Award, A-Award. Intensive project work in the grown team. The highlight with the run over the red carpet in front of the Schauspiel-Haus Berlin was certainly the RedDot-Award. This year, we have done intensive work on the Welcome App towards the largest German integration platform. This was also connected with the development of our own so-called "headlines CMS". This year we were able to win Erik as a developer and Konrad as a graphic designer. Ahmad and Antje left. In addition to specialist activities, we are also exhibited together at conferences in the context of inclusion, e.g. at the Future Conference On Migration & Integration at the German Press Office. Even a microsoft USA film team was with us at our humble hut to report on our activities around the Welcome app. A highlight of the year is certainly that we were invited – because of the Welcome app – to the Global Child Forum in the Royal Palace of Stockholm as 2 out of 500 guests worldwide.

2017
Back in 2016, we realized that charitable activities don't work out of the context of commercial companies. Appropriately by Peggy and Armin's dad "You've been a non-profit in what you're doing" and with Dad's grant of 50% of the funding, Peggy completed the foundation of the nonprofit sister company IT Helps GmbH in March – with all the official Pipapo through the Notary, full deposit of 25 K and tax recognition. Peggy and Armin have since been the main shareholders of the IT helps gGmbH practice this in honorary office alongside their permanent employment at HeiReS. The fundamental change of all non-profit projects from HeiReS to IT helps gGmbH has also been completed. Nevertheless, HeiReS is a partner and supporter. With this meeting, we were once again able to concentrate better on our core business of design and development. Personally, there was a departure of Erik. Melli and Konrad and a win from Thea as a UI-Desigerin and Yazan in the office area. With these structural and personnel changes, we have repositioned ourselves and thus won HeiReS professionally and personally. As boring as it sounds – WPF and software remain our core business despite all the hype.

2018
Due to our high cosmopolitanism, we were able to win Moataseem as a developer even in times of shortage of skilled workers. Thanks to our performance with the Welcome app and our technical CMS, we have also started a new social innovation – with the promotion of the European Union with the support of the Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs. The platform for a better work-life balance is therefore starting and will be the second major social innovation to accompany us until the end of 2019. In this process, we hired Militza as a social worker to editorial. Our core business remains WPF for various customers, some of whom are long-term customers, with more and more focus on medical technology, industry and administration. Due to our app competences, however, more and more customers have also opted for us as app developers. This year we were last in Redmond at the MVP summit – with the basic feeling of not coming back, to a country where foreigners are no longer welcome. Visits to the Royal House of Sweden are and remain Hightlights – Lars and Peggy were again at the Global Child Forum. There we have also signed as a partner for both IT helps gGmbH and For HeiReS WePledge4Children – a contract in use for children's rights.

2019
Much investment in the social innovation family-and-occupation. HeiReS with its entire portfolio is exhibiting at the Smartcity Conference in Barcelona at the booth of the state of Saxony. Core business WPF expands with app development, mobile design, HTML development and AI. Own chatbot with morality. Expanding the portfolio to accessibility in and with IT. Departure Moataseem, Militza. new focus on accessibility in and with IT. Project certification for accessibility as well as partner accreditation. Certification as a partner for GoDigital (BMWI).

Plan for 2020
Launch of ConDiSys as a universal platform for larger content projects. Certified as an accredited test partner for accessibility. Some major trade fair appearances.
